Sprout Community Arts

Established in 2010 by a group of local residents, this volunteer-run art gallery offers new artist exhibitions every 2 weeks, community shows and activities such as their annual Secret Postcard exhibition and Graveney School exhibition, a free Art Loan service for members, talks and workshops.

Membership costs £10 for non-artists and £15 for artists, for which you may enter group exhibitions, receive their newsletter and invitations to Private Views.

Entry to every exhibition is free and normal opening hours are Tuesday to Saturday 11am to 5pm.

Sprout Arts is self-funding and completely run by volunteers and has a handy range of gifts and cards designed by local artists.

The Furzedown Project

Established in 1975, the Furzedown Project runs activities and services are for anyone aged 50 and over, living within the local community. They aim to increase people’s sense of wellbeing and reduce social isolation. At their centre on Moyser Road they run up to 20 sessions that are aligned with their five core areas of wellbeing - Creative, Emotional, Physical, Social, Digital.

Open Monday – Friday from 09:30am – 16:30pm, they have special events on occasional evenings and weekends and can also offer transport for those people who live in Furzedown and require the service.

An annual membership is £20 and between £2 to £5 to attend any of our activities, with concessions if you are struggling financially.
